
MR. ONG SEK PEK - FORMER MALACCA HIGH PUPIL PASSED AWAY

Mr. Ong Sek Pek, who was born on 3rd. September 1927 passed away on 5th. November 2009 at the age of 82.
He studied in Malacca High School from 1945 to 1948 and was the School Captain and Editor of the "Optimist".
He played a special part for Malacca High School by donating generously to buy instruments for the Brass band of the school in the 1970s. He also assisted in building the School Hall and other School activities.
We mourn his death and extend our condolences to the family of the late Mr.Ong Sek Pek.

Malacca High School Class of 1971 held their Grand Reunion at Holiday Inn Pool Side on Saturday night.
66 persons attended this function. Ten old teachers namely Mr. Mahinder Singh, Mr. Teja Singh, Ms.Alice Chia, Ms Alice Wee, Mr.Kumaradas, Mr.Poonendaraja, Mr. Yew Gin Jee, Mr.Narayanasamy, Mr.Chye Boon and Mr.Leong Koi Fong attended the Reunion
LET US CELEBRATE OUR 52ND. ANNIVERSARY

On the early hours of 31st. August 2009, all Malaysians will celebrate our 52nd. Anniversary of Merdeka. On that auspicious night, Malaya gained her Independence from Britain after Tunku Abdul Rahman and his team negotiated for her Independence. Our Independence was carried out in a lawful and civil manner and no blood was shed. We achieved our Independence peacefully.

HIGH SCHOOL OLD BOYS CATCH UP AT BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
MELAKA RAYA - A group of Melaka High School old-boys of who were born in1969 has made it a point to hold birthday celebrations of every member ever since the return of Frankie Tan- better known as Trishawman - from London about two years ago.
The group of eight (and growing) held such a birthday celebration for the first time at a vegetarian restaurant near here last Monday.
Tan, who was also the organizer, said as a member of group is a vegetarian they had
decided to hold the celebration at a vegetarian restaurant.
OUR CONGRATULATIONS TO FRANKIE TAN AND TEAM FOR RAISING RM 171,000.00 FOR 4 CHARITIES

Frankie Tan and his Sun-chasing team have raised about RM 171,000.00 to four charities when they cycled from Melaka to Penang in 21 days.
Their charity raising quest ended on 31st. July 2009 and through the publicity in the print media, websites and blogs, the general public in Malaysia and overseas have chipped in to donate to the four charities.
They are : Wings, Melaka - a charity for child intervention
SPCA Melaka, National Council for the Blind and Women Organisation.

INFORMAL MALACCA HIGH OLD PUPILS GATHERING ON 25TH. JULY 2009 AT NATIONAL PRESS CLUB

More than 100 former Malacca High pupils (guys and ladies) attended this informal Malacca High Old pupils gathering at the National Press Club, Jalan Tangsi, last night.
The oldest former pupil there was Mr. Kang Weng Piew, 82, who came with his 2 sons and wives. The secretary of MAHSOPA, Mr. Lim Koh Chin, also attended this function. Overall the mood was casual where the former pupils talked and sang old songs during the night.

CLASS OF 71 REUNION
TAMAN MELAKA RAYA: A grand reunion gathering cum buffet dinner by the poolside overlooking the Straits of Malacca at Holiday Inn is scheduled for the Malacca High School (MHS) Class of 71 Reunion on Saturday, 29 August 2009.
Organizing Chairman Ir Ng Cheu Kuan siad that it has been been more than three decades that many of the 71 classmates and schoolmates have not met since leaving school. Many of them have succeeded in their respective careers and have families of their own.
