MAHSOPA PLANS FAMILY DAY OUTING TO PORT KLANG AUTHORITY AND PULAU KETAM TOUR

Plans are being made to have a day tour to Port Klang Authority and Pulau Ketam on Saturday, 22nd. September 2012 for MAHSOPA members and friends who are interested to visit our Port and Pulau Ketam.


We hope to visit Port Klang Authority in the morning and arrange for a sea food lunch cum island tour at Pulau Ketam.


A tour guide will meet our group at the Pulau Ketam Ferry Terminal before travelling to Pulau Ketam by speedboat for our seafood lunch.


After lunch, a visit to a fish farm is scheduled. Before going back, a travel around the island by foot is planned.

Malacca-High Reunions

The names of MHS past school captains has been badly vandalised by the recent batches. Its quite sad that no respect has been accorded to them by these students.

Some MHS Alumni members expressed their protests and indignation on the lack of respect to our former School captains.

A protest email sent by the secretary of MAHSOPA highlighted this vandalism as can be read below:-

School keeping up with its fine tradition

MALACCA: For the last 50 years, Malacca High School (MHS) had always been tagged a hockey powerhouse on on the local and national front. The school’s recent capture of the state schools Under 18 honours and emerging second best in the Malaysian Hockey Confederation Division Two Junior League is testimony of its continuing prowess in the game.

MHS produces most top scorers

MALACCA: The Malacca High School (MHS) had produced the most STPM top scorers in the state.

Out of the 11 candidates who obtained a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.0, six were from MHS.

They are Alvin Poh Leong Ann, Hoo Hui Ping, Teo Xin Lei, Yip Zi Xin, Gan Nan Sie and Justina Ee En Yi.

Malacca govt waives SFI’s RM1.2mil quit rent arrears

MALACCA: It is the best Christmas gift for St Francis Institution (SFI) as the state government has waived the school’s RM1.2mil quit rent arrears and was told it only had to pay RM1 for quit rent in the future.

State Education, Youth and Sports Committee chairman Datuk Gan Tian Loo said the decision to waive the quit rent was made two weeks ago during the state exco meeting.

He conveyed the news to the school during a meeting yesterday.

KUALA LUMPUR: It was an emotional affair after 45 years for the old boys of Malacca High School, who attended their reunion dinner at Makhota Hotel in Malacca recently.
There were hugs, tears and squeals of delight were in the air as  former classmates of the 1966 batch met to reminisce their younger days.

About 80 alumni members, aged between 61 and 63, and their spouses, turned up in full force.

Malacca High School celebrates 185th anniversary

MALACCA: With an illustrious history dating back to 1826, the iconic Malacca High School will be celebrating its 185th anniversary this weekend with an exciting line-up of games and activities for its past and present pupils and teachers.
The celebrations will kick off with the Games Carnival on Saturday and Sunday where students will pit their skills at cricket, hockey, netball, golf and football.

To capture the memorable and auspicious occasion during the MHS 185th. Anniversary Reunion Dinner at Hotel Equatorial, Melaka on Sunday night, 25th. September 2011, the Organising Committee has engaged a professional photographer for the event.

He will be taking in-situ photographs during the night. Maybe, these photos can be sold in a CD for a fee to all who are interested to cherish these moments. Proceeds from this CD sales can also be donated to charity.
