History was never a bore with Teja around
I CANNOT agree more with Dr Ranjit Singh Malhi regarding the teaching of History, which is an interesting subject made uninteresting by teachers ‘Factual Errors in History book’ (The Star, Dec 20).
Let me give you my experience as a student at the Malacca High School in the early 1960s.
MHS had the proud record of being the best school in terms of History grades in the Lower Certificate of Education and Senior Cambridge exams with over 80 per cent scoring distinction.
All of us are proud that our classmates, Professor Lee Seow Ming and Professor Chan Weng Tat.
Professor Lee Seow Ming currently works at the University College of London and is a specialist in Oncology. Professor Chan Weng Tat was Associate Professor in National University of Singapore before he became a Professor. Both of them have confirmed their attendance at our Reunion in February 2011.

With our MHS 2011 Reunion Bash fast approaching, our Countdown clock has been activated. It is exactly 60 days to the Reunion and the organising committee wishes all interested to attend to confirm their attendance via SMS, emails or by telephone. We need to know how many are expected to attend so that dinner arrangements can be made before the end of this year. Your co-operation is appreciated.

I have just completed my very own rain harvesting project for my house on DIY basis. Thought of sharing this simple rain harvesting system for those who are interested in "Green project".
I thought it is a waste of rainwater from the roof going down to the drain. With water getting scarce due to the climate warming and change in weather patterns, we need to invest in the future.
For classmates who have yet to decide whether to attend our MHS 2011 Reunion Bash on 12th. February 2011 at Aldy Hotel, Melaka, why not take the advice of Paul, the oracle octopus which predicted 100% World Cup matches. Paul selected Spain to be the Winner and he was right.
You do not have to predict whether you want to attend our Bash. Just send in your confirmation as soon as possible. Book your air tickets and schedule your visit.

The Internet is an amazing tool. A school mate of mine whom I have not met 36 years ago reconnected with me when he sent me an email from Toronto, Canada. Michael Teo left Malacca High after his Form 5 (1973) to pursue his dreams. So, after his travels to United Kingdom and all these years, he has landed in Toronto, Canada.
Though we have not met since, his face remains unchanged.
I would sincerely appreciate it if you guys circulate to'all my old chums' my email address
