QONG XI FA CAI in THE YEAR OF THE RAT

MHS 1969 to 1975 ALUMNI will like to take this opportunity to wish all our classmates and friends of Chinese Heritage a VERY PROSPEROUS AND PEACEFUL NEW YEAR OF THE RAT. May the New Year bring you all lots of happiness, health, wealth and good fortune to your family, friends and associates.

Many Class Reunions lunches, dinners and "Open Houses" are being held by various classes of Malacca High as we take the opportunity to meet up and catch up with long lost friends and classmates.

CONGRATULATIONS TO FANG KEONG

1st. November 2007

The MHS 75 Alumni schoolmates and classmates will like to express our congratulations to Fang Keong for being conferred with the Melaka State Title of Darjah Seri Melaka (DSM).

He was conferred with this Melaka State Award in an official investiture ceremony held at Istana Melaka recently. The function was held inconjunction with the Melaka Governor's Birthday.

KEEPING IN TOUCH

It is important that friends wherever we maybe, to keep in touch. A phone call may do or even a short message via SMS from time to time.

With the age of the Internet, we can also email or Skype one another. At least, we know each and everyone of us are well or may not be too well as we travel down the age of life.

FAREWELL TO BENG LEONG AND PAT LEE

16th. October 2007

Two of our classmates of MHS Form 6 Science 5 (1975) passed away over the last two months. They were Teo Beng Leong and Patricia Lee.

Beng Leong (as we knew him) succumb to colectoreal cancer on 24th. August 2007 in Singapore. He worked at Nestle Malaysia in Petaling Jaya but we were not able to contact him for our Reunion 2006. For me, we have not met since Form 6 days and it was rather sad to receive news of his death from another classmate via SMS. When I received the sad news,I was on holiday with my wife in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

HAPPY 50TH. BIRTHDAY MALAYSIANS

We will like to extend our best wishes to all Malaysians,classmates, schoolmates and friends worldwide for celebrating our 50th. birthday on 31st. August 2007.

As we celebrate our 50 years of Nationhood, we should also look back on our past successes and mistakes. Learn from them and if necessary, correct them and strive to greater heights.

Malacca High has a great motto - Meliora Hic Sequamur in Latin which stands for "Here we strive for better things". So, for all Malaysians, we should also strive for better things as we look ahead for the next 50 years.

Batik is the Theme for MHS 180th. Dinner tomorrow

27th. July 2007
Malacca High School 180th. dinner will be held at 8.00pm tomorrow night. Batik has been selected to be the theme for the night where attendees are encouraged to dress in batik for this auspicious occassion.

Quite a number of tables have been booked by former MHS Alumni members who are keen to attend the function. At least 2 tables have been booked by MHS Class of 1980, 1 Table by MHS Class of 1966 and 1 Table by MHS Class of 1975.

Monthly Informal Meeting at Cobra Club, Astaka, Petaling Jaya

Please be informed that MHS 75 Alumni informal monthly meeting is on EVERY LAST WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH.

The casual meeting is at COBRA CLUB, Astaka, Petaling Jaya from 7.30pm onwards.

All MHS Alumni members of Year 1975 who are free are welcomed to join us at these gatherings.

As a convention, the final bill will be shared among the members present. New comers are exempted from payment on their first visit.

MHS 180TH. ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE BOOK

In December 2006, a coffee table book of 215 pages was published to commemorate the 180th. Anniversary of Malacca High School.

Named, Our Story - Malacca High School (1826 to 2006), this limited edition publication of about 2,000 copies, was officially launched at Shah Village Hotel, Petaling Jaya. More than 100 Malacca High former pupils attended this launch.

Malacca High School to celebrate 180 Years of Founding

Malacca High School is celebrating her 180 years of founding from July 26th. to 28th. July 2007.

A Fund raising dinner will be held at Malacca High School Hall on Saturday night, 28th. July 2007 from 7.00pm onwards.

A table of ten costs a minimum of RM 300.00 only while the minimum donation per ticket is RM 30.00 per ticket. Old pupils of the school are invited to attend this auspicious event. Funds raised will be channeled to the "MHS School Fund".

Be seeing you all at the function as I have booked a table of ten for my family and friends.
