This is our own Malacca High School 1st. & 4th Fort Scout Troops Alumni Web Portal where we hope to publish and collate past articles of the Malacca High School Scout Movement. Founded in 1925, this movement celebrated her Golden Anniversary in 1975 where I was fortunate enough to be involved in organising the 50th. Anniversary of the Malacca High School Scout Movement.

Malaysia To Bid For Locating World Scouts Organisation's Headquarter Here

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysia will offer to be the location for the World Scout Organisation's headquarters, which is now in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Malaysian delegation, headed by National Scout chief Datuk Seri Dr Shafie Salleh, will bid for it at the 39th World Scout Conference in Curitiba, Brazil from this Jan 10 to 14.

I was a Scout in MHS from 1997 to 2001. Our Scout Master then was Mr. Peter Suan Teck Siang.

In 1997, MHS sent about 2 patrol of scouts to attend the 9th Malaysian Jamboree and the 18th APR Jamboree in Kem Seri Keluang Besut, Terengganu.In 1998, we organised a campfire where we invited numerous scouts and guides from other schools. We still manage to use the Scout Den
when we were the committee.

Scouts Body To Build Hotel

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- The Scouts Association of Malaysia (Pengakap) plans to build a three-star hotel at the site of its headquarters in Jalan Hang Jebat here to strengthen its financial resources, National Chief Scout Datuk Seri Shafie Mohd Salleh said Saturday.

He said the 29-storey hotel was expected to be built in the middle of this year and would house the association's headquarters as well as a museum on the history and background of the scout movement in the country.

Camaraderie of scouting pack

SOME 3,000 scouts from around the country and their fellow members from Bangladesh and Indonesia gathered at Tan Chay Yan Scout Camp in Bukit Katil for the 7th Malacca World Heritage City Jamboree recently.

The five-day event was packed with 17 scouting activities, including a tour of the Malacca historic city.

Bakal Dilengkapi Pelbagai Kemudahan
DUN Sungai Rambai Lokasi Pengakap

SUNGAI RAMBAI, 1 April – Kawasan Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Sungai Rambai bakal dijadikan sebagai salah sebuah lokasi perkhemahan pengakap, kata Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) Sungai Rambai, Hasan Abd Rahman.

Beliau memberitahu, pihaknya sedang mengusahakan tanah seluas 1.2 hektar dalam kawasan DUN itu untuk dijadikan sebagai kawasan perkhemahan pengakap.

The Scout Movement in Malaysia started in 1908. 2008 is a special year of the Scout Movement in Malaysia as The Scout Association of Malaysia celebrated her 100 years of founding.

To mark this auspicious occasion, the Scout Association of Malaysia launched the 100 years Centenary First Day cover Stamp with Pos Malaysia on August 14th. 2008.

Stamps of denomination RM 0.30 and RM 0.50 were sold to commemorate this event.

Stamp collectors should buy these stamps and keep as they will become a Collectors' items in years to come.

Five Recipients for Presidential Excellence Award & 104 New King Scouts Honoured

KAMPONG PANGKALAN BADAK: Five top civil servants were honoured by the Malaysian Scouts Council of Melaka in the its annual King Scouts Presentation Award ceremony held at the Tan Chay Yan Scouts' Camp at Kampong Pangkalan Badak in Bukit Katil yesterday morning.
